Buying and Selling

 

Every item is described in a catalogue which is published and distributed two to three weeks before each sale. Providing ample opportunity to review the offerings. Catalogues may be purchased individually, or by subscription. You can order them by telephone, mail, fax, e-mail, or by filling in the “Mailing List” form. You can also view our catalogues online on this website.

The items are exhibited in our galleries for three days before each auction. We encourage prospective buyers to visit the preview exhibition. If you are unable to see the items in person, you can call our experts for a condition report, or to discuss any aspect of the sale.

Our auctions are open to the public and the bidding process is easy.
In Person: You will need to register by completing a Bidding Slip Form at Reception. Once you have provided us with your credentials and contact telephone number you will be allocated a bidding number which is used to indicate your bids to the auctioneer during the sale.

By Commission Bid: If you cannot attend the sale we will be happy to execute written bids on your behalf. Just fill in the Absentee Bid Form, which is to be found in the left-hand column and e-mail, fax or post it to us with your bids.

By Telephone: We can provide a telephone bidding facility to prospective buyers who cannot attend the auction but who would like to bid “live”. If you would like to bid on the telephone it is advisable to contact us as soon as possible as telephone lines are limited.

As indicated in our terms and conditions of sale, each buyer pays the "hammer price" plus a "buyer's premium" as defined in paragraph 8 of our terms and conditions, sales tax is included.


If your bid is successful, you will receive an invoice after the auction.Goods will not be released until the purchaser’s account has been paid in full.

Payment Methods
We accept the following types of payment:
Cash, Bank Draft, Bank Transfer, Debit Cards, Credit Cards.
A charge of 3% is levied on all credit card transactions.
